Download the Smart City PDX Digital Justice and Surveillance Technologies Zine

Update (11/30/22): New Spanish translation of the zine available for download below.

The Smart City PDX program is releasing a zine for community outreach. This zine includes information about Digital Rights and Digital Justice. It also describes surveillance technologies, and some community experiences on Digital Justice.

This zine is the product of a public engagement process and open discussions. This material aims to help better understanding of Portland's Surveillance Technologies policy.

Digital Justice is the fair treatment of all people in the realm of technology and information. Technology access should not depend on race, abilities, gender, age, or social context.

Digital justice ensures that people have the digital rights and resources they need to thrive. This includes access to digital tools, shared ownership of digital resources, data protection, and open and accountable digital governance.

We invite you to read this zine and learn more about surveillance technologies and digital rights.

You can download the zine by clicking on the image below.

Learn more about this surveillance technologies policy by visiting the project webpage: https://www.smartcitypdx.com/surveillance-policy.

The draft policy is schedule to have its public hearing on November 30, 2022. You can also download the draft policy here
